We studied many theories this semester. There are many different ideas from Frued, Jung, and Rilke. Frued believes in the conscious mind. The ego and superego are part of his theories also. Jung believes that the self expresses itself through various symbols. He discovered this view of self through studying and observing religions of the Orient. Rilke is in conflict with ID and superego. His ego is not keeping him in balance. He faces many battles with conflict. He also believes that all people are introverts or extroverts. In the Romantic era art and music played an important part. Music is a very important part of art.

My self-portrait project reflects my personality. I think my box has theories from all of the men mentioned above. Frued's beliefs are shown because I believe that everyone has a conscious. A conscious can sometimes make a person who they are. Jung's theory is shown in my self-portrait project, because the symbols in my box are shown to express who I am. Rilke's is shown by the ego's of people. I painted my box yellow, because yellow is my favorite color. I put a mirror in my box, because I reflect the world around me. The diagonal lines represent on the go, and exciting. The vertical lines are steady, and stable. The glass shows that I am easy to see through and I do not hide my emotions. The cotton ball shows that I have a warm and fuzzy personality. The spiral represents growth and change. The poem "Footprints in the Sand" is my favorite poem. I enjoyed this project, because it helped me to realize many things about my personality.
