2310 Course Survey Fall 2000
Student 3
1. Fun and interesting are simple descriptive words that come to mind-a
class that has something for everyone and keeps your attention.
2. I would explain it as a course that incorporates a little of all of
the disciplines (English, art, psychology, history, etc.)
3. Other classes don't incorporate the different methods of teaching
as this one did (projects, WEBCT, movies, slides, music, etc) which is
sad because these keep my attention and make it interesting. The exams
found in this class were similar to other classes.
4. It differs greatly because different resources were used (WEBct, projects)
and I wasn't subjected to a boring, monotonous lecture every day like
other classes.
5. The different subjects covered are interesting to me on their own.
The various projects (hands-on) were fun and enjoyable.
6. I did spend more time with this class (projects, postings, etc) than
I did with any others. I do understand the difficulty of covering lots
of material with such a small timeframe.
7. Students such as myself are often times asked to teach or present
sections to the class (for other classes). I have learned different ways
of presenting material that deviates from boring, monotonous lectures!
8. I find that I have developed a greater appreciation for other cultures
and art forms with each humanities class I take, and this is no exception.
9. Poetics has always been a challenge and weak spot for me and this
was no exception.
10. The traditional subjects like Italian art (paintings, sculpture)
and Greek art presented the least challenge because I have had prior exposure
to them
11. I think that the idea is great-I like taking quizzes, etc., on my
own, the only complaint is the dependability issue with WEBct-there were
plenty of times that it went out on me.
12. The Yoruba ring project was not only helpful but kept my interest.
I'm the type of person that does better with hands-on applications WEBct
chapters were a great way to review for exams
13. The Napoleon unit had lots of history to accompany it the Freud and
Tueng chapters of course used psychology art was covered in almost all
sections.
14. The self portrait and preferential shape projects reinforced what
I had already learned (good thing!)
15. No, I don't. I have a small musical background and have had plenty
of art and literature courses, so it came without much difficulty .The
pyramids section was more difficult because it's not a subject covered
in much detail by preceding classes.
16. I enjoyed it even with the amount of time that was invested. Using
various resources (slides, music, WEBct, projects, etc.) is a great way
of teaching the course and definitely kept my interest (which is difficult
to do!)
