Using FTP to Access the GCSU Faculty Web ServerThis page is designed to provide you with more information about using FTP and how it relates to the Faculty Web Server at Georgia College & State University. This information is intended for GCSU personnel only. Before getting started you will want to review the GCSU Faculty Web Server Policy. If you do not yet have a GCSU Faculty Web Server account, then you will then need to complete an application. Upon verification necessary information will be sent to you via email. You can also use the account reference information as needed. Some of you may be using HTML editors that include an FTP upload/download facility. If so, you should refer to the appropriate documentation for that product. On the other hand, if you are using a separate, stand-alone FTP client to upload and download files to this server, the following information is for you. What is FTP?The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a set of rules for file structure and transfer methods, and is the primary method for moving files around the Internet.
