Change Your Password

How To Change Your Password

When a faculty member establishes his FWS account, he receives a computer generated password that might look something like this:

aA57bcx3

You should change the initial password provided when your account was first created to something that you can remember but that others cannot guess. Your new password must be 6 to 8 characters long and will be case sensitive.

The security of your web space will be in your hands alone and will not be compromised by passwords being sent through the e-mail system. Web Enabled Resources (WER) will not be able to retrieve your password should you forget it or loose it to a disk crash.

To change your password:

Login to the Account Management tool at:

Account Management

with your username and password. For security reasons, this only works on campus.

Select the "Change Password" option and click "continue."

Enter your current password on the first line, your new password on the second line and again on the third line for confirmation and click "submit."
