| Transferring Files with WS-FTP |

You can use any FTP program to upload files to the Faculty Web Server. These instructions are for WS-FTP LE which is free for academic users.
You can download WS-FTP LE from: FTP Planet
- When you are ready to transfer your files from your computer to your Faculty Web Server account, launch WS-FTP. The following screen should appear:

- For "Profile Name", choose something that will help you recognize this profile as being the one for your Faculty Web Server account.
- For "host Name/Address" type in either:
- www.faculty.de.gcsu.edu
or
- hercules.gcsu.edu
- For "Host Type" leave it set to its default setting of "Automatic Detect"
- Put your username in the "User ID" box
- Put your password in the "Password" box and click "OK"
NOTE: If you have entered all the information correctly, next you will either see the following screen or a small window asking again for your Faculty Web Server password. If you are asked for your password again, just type it in the appropriate box and click OK. You should then see the following screen:

- "Remote Site" refers to your Faculty Web Server account. You should see a folder labelled, "www". Click to open this folder.
- "Local System" refers to your computer. In the window marked "Local System" select the files you wish to upload to your Faculty Web Server account and click on the arrow pointing from the "Local System" area to the "Remote Site" area. You're files should now transfer from your computer to your Faculty Web Server account.
