Converting a WP.doc to a Word'97.doc

In this lesson you will:

1. Insert a WordPerfect (or other document file type) disk into the A drive.

2. Open up Microsoft Word'97.

3. Open the saved WP document on the disk into Word '97 and save it as a Word '97 doc.

Step Number	What You're Doing	How To Do It
1	Inserting the disk with the WordPerfect file on it into the A: drive	Insert the disk into the A drive located on the lower right side of your laptop.
2.	Start Word'97 You must start Word'97 FIRST to get it to convert a document.	a. Start Button --> Programs --> Microsoft Word b. File --> Open --> Select A: drive --> select the file you want to open. Word will take a few moments to covert the file for you. It may look a little different than the WP copy. You'll need to edit the document format.
3.	Save the Document in Word '97 Format	a. File --> b. Save As --> c. Name the document and select the folder you want to save it in.
