Above the dam at Lloyd Shoals, there is a developed Georgia Power public park with a boat ramp, picnic areas, and swimming area. There is a $3 parking fee for this park, and it is open 9-5 everyday.
As you come toward the park from Stark Rd., turn right to the fishing dock and go down a steep dirt and gravel road to the river below the dam. There is a small parking area here and a beautiful boardwalk that allows fishing access. It may be possible to launch a canoe at this site, but the current is very strong and the shore is very steep. Check with Georgia Power about what happens to vehicles left overnight.
