This is a very quiet spot along the west bank of the river just below Dames Ferry. It serves as a good put-in for people headed down toward Macon. The property to the south of the landing was private before Tropical Storm Alberto levelled the four houses that were there. The current property status has not been determined.
Pope's Ferry Road goes east from US 23 about two miles south of the GA 18 crossing, just south of the large quarry and caution light. Look for the Williams Asphalt sign. Take the first right after the Popes Ferry firehouse and continue downhill over the railroad tracks to the river.
