I come
from an Island province in the Philippines named Bohol.
Located in the center of the country, it is surrounded by the china
sea and the pacific ocean.
Here are pictures that showcase the pride of Bohol.
The island of Bohol is known for its
white sandy beaches.
The Chocolate Hills is located at the
heart of the island.
This tourist spot is comprised of more than 1200 similar shape hills.
The grass covering the hills dies during the summer and the reddish-brownish
dirt becomes apparent, thus "Chocolate Hills."
The
tarsier is considered the smallest monkey in the world.
This endangered specie hunts insects at night and sleeps during the day.
The Philippine government in cooperation with international environmentalists
protects these species from its most harmful predators --- human beings.
The forest where tarsiers are usually found is 25 kilometers away from the
island's capital.
The Baclayon Church is the oldest church
in the Philippines.
One of the first Spanish settlements arrived in Bohol in the year 1556.
They brought Catholicism to the Philippines making it the only Christian country
in Southeast Asia.
