When bombs rained on Frankfurt in 1944, nearly all the old half-timbered buildings were leveled. The Frankfurters, however, not only rebuilt their city into a fine mélange of modern and traditional architecture but faithfully restored some of their most prized buildings as well.
Walking tour through Frankfurt (see attached sheet): ca. 90 min. Start at Alte Oper. End at Goethehaus.
