Click here to Log On  GeorgiaView V8  (or Log on through MyCats).

Your username is typically your first name + underscore + last name (john_smith)

Your password will be the same as in PAWS (your birthday--dd/mm/yy) unless you have already changed it.

Before you actually connect to the course, I suggest that you perform the Browser Check to see if you are useing a recommended Browser.  Follow the istructions carefully, especially those regarding pop ups, etc.

Once you are connected to the Utopia site, browse around and familiarize yourself with the course and the various features.  Play with it.

You first two assignments are as follows:

1.  Introduce yourself by submitting a message to the discussion topic Introductions. A couple of paragraphs will be sufficient for this assignment. Tell us who you are, where you are from, and what your academic goals are. If you've decided on a major, tell us that too.

I recommend that you compose your message in Word, do a spell and grammar check, and then copy and paste your message into the discussion area.

To post your introduction message to the discussion topic Introductions, complete the following steps:

Compose your message in Word and do a spell and grammar check

Copy the message (Ctrl C)

Minimize Word to the task bar

Click Discussions in the left hand navigation bar of your WebCT course site

Click Compose Message button

Make sure the discussion topic Introductions is selected in the Topic line. Notice there is a drop down box that appears where you can select Introductions.

Always put a subject in (for example, Introduction from Autumn)

In the message text box, paste your message (Ctrl V)

Click Preview to make sure your message is formatted correctly

Click Post to submit your message

2.  Post a message to the discussion topic My Utopia or Dystopia. In this message, explain what your personal utopia or dystopia would be like if you could create one. Explain why your own personal vision is a utopia or dystopia. Three to four paragraphs will be sufficient for this assignment.
