James Gibbs

(1682-1745)

Gibbs pushed the influence of the Wren-Hawksmoor-Vanbrugh  styler of architecture well into the mid century.  His two best know works are the Radcliff Camera in Oxford (1737-49) and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London (1722-26).  The latter is a flourishing center for music as well as Anglicanism.
